About Ebadot Hossain

A huge fan of former Australian speedster Brett Lee, young Ebadat Hossain made his First-class debut in 2016 and has been a moderately successful performer in the domestic circuit as far as the longer format goes. His transition to cricket was impromptu, given his penchant for volleyball for the Bangladesh Air Force but things transpired rather quickly for the seamer from Sylhet. It was during a scouting session that he was first noticed and his natural talent was hard to miss for the coaches who promptly got him into a training camp at Dhaka. The rest, as they say, is history. Ebadat also got picked in the BPL, and has been a reliable performer in the tournament over the years. Despite being a late bloomer in cricket, he is still quite young and has the time to evolve into a complete fast bowler. If his initial sample size in domestic cricket is any indication, Ebadat seems best suited for Tests and T20I with the former being the most apt one. He made his red-ball debut for Bangladesh in the 2019 tour of New Zealand and has played a few more games since. Still early days for Ebadat and the coming season will determine whether he is ready for international cricket or not.
